Special Needs Shelter- Night shifts

Expired

Description

UPDATE: Arrival Instructions: Go to the Church street entrance with the Chevrolet VIP sign. Walk up steps, turn right go down 200 yards to Furman Entrance.

Please bring your own food and anything else you might need during your shift.

These shelters are being created to support patients who have been displaced and require additional assistance beyond the capabilities of a general population shelter. In many cases they are oxygen dependent but also have mobility issues or other additional medical needs. Volunteers would assist with monitoring patients requiring portable oxygen concentrators in additional to supporting overall operations of the shelter.

We will be starting a new shelter at the Bon Secours Arena in downtown Greenville and looking for additional staffing as soon as possible to begin accepting patients as early as this afternoon. I encourage you sign up if you are available and we will distribute additional information about where to report and what to bring. It would be an incredible service to the community if you or any of your classmates are able to contribute to a full or partial shift.

If you are able to work a partial shift, please sign up and email Dr. Bridges (bridgeep@greenvillemed.sc.edu).

M1 and M2 students: This is approved for IPM service learning hours. A full 12 hour shift will count as your EMT shift for IPM.
