The College Community Mentor is a crucial role in the U of SC SOMG College Program leading the students through their four years of medical school. The mentor responsibilities contribute to the development of the medical student by promoting camaraderie, a sense of community, and wellness. In addition, the College Mentor is charged with leading the individual College team building, civic engagement and community outreach. The mentor guides the College in helping to understand how we care for ourselves and our patients outside of the healthcare arena and in their daily lives.
