This opportunity is to outline the process of matching in a one-on-one friendship.
Step 1 is to fill out our membership application: www.bestbuddies.org/join. This step is for everyone, regardless of if you want to be matched or not. If you have already filled out a membership application, you do not need to fill out another form. Not sure if you have already filled out an application, just ask the Best Buddies program manager at bayleegoode@bestbuddies.org.
Step 2 is to fill out a background check. This step is for everyone (with or without IDD) regardless of if you want to be matched or not. Once you fill out your membership application, you will receive an email from Sterling Volunteers. Please fill out the background check and allow a week or two for it to come back. Unfortunately, we cannot accept a passed background check from any other site, it must go through our system. Thank you for your understanding.
Step 3 is to fill out our match survey: Click here for match survey! This is for us to get to know you a little better and make sure we match you with the right person! We may even have a quick call to ask you some follow up questions! You do not have to be matched to be a part of Best Buddies, but it is kind of the best part.
Step 4 is to wait to be matched with the right person! We match people based on mutual interest so you may not be matched right away but it will be worth the wait! Reach out to bayleegoode@bestbuddies.org with any questions!
