Who We Are

LiteracyRx aims to improve community health literacy through student-led initiatives and volunteer opportunities, while also providing educational experiences that enhance students' understanding of health literacy and its impact on healthcare.

What We Do

With Dr. Hood’s support, LiteracyRx members are currently providing patient counseling at Greenville Family Medicine most Wednesdays during designated time slots (8:30 am - 11:30 am and 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm). Students will have the opportunity to counsel on a variety of health literacy topics, including medication management, preventive care, understanding medical instructions, and navigating healthcare resources, just to name a few.
