Best buddies is an organization that encourages the USCSOMG student body to create real, meaningful connections with those in the IDD community here in Greenville. As a citizen's chapter of the nationwide Best buddies organization, we are able to provide several opportunities to our IDD community through statewide, nationwide, and local events put on by Best Buddies to ensure adequate opportunity for involvement.
Current: We are currently hosting multiple events a month to build our community with lots of members and buddies. These events range from weekly walks in collaboration with Healing Strides to Music Bingo at Gather GVL.
Future: In the future, we anticipate our chapter to grow exponentially as the word about or organization spreads and new members continue to join. Once Best Buddies is established with several possible buddies for our members, we will begin the matching process for buddies and have more opportunities for members to earn hours in one-on-one settings with your buddies.
***REMINDER: To continue receiving service learning hours through Best Buddies, you MUST complete the 4 hour online training course located here. More details regarding this are posted under an opportunity on our page. Once completed, those 4 hours count as well.***
