High Value Care Interest Group

High value care is providing the best care at the lowest cost. The former depiction of an ideal physician was that of a "thorough physician," but advocates of high value care argue the ideal physician ought to be one who is appropriate - ordering tests/labs/procedures that are necessary to the patient's diagnosis and treatment and discussing financial history with patient to understand what treatment plans a patient may afford and adjusting the plan when a patient cannot afford. Our interest group focuses on the benefits and the necessity of high value care in our health system and learns from providers who use high value care in their daily practice.
