What We Do
The Dermatology Interest Group Association (DIGA) is dedicated to providing students with a keen interest in Dermatology with valuable opportunities for networking with upper-level students, alumni, residents, and local attending physicians. We offer educational, service, and mentorship opportunities to enhance your understanding and involvement in the field. This year, we are thrilled to be working towards achieving the Skin Smart Campus Award and expanding our sun safety initiatives on campus.
Programs and Events:
Skin Smart Campus - We are excited to be in the running for the Skin Smart Campus Award from the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention. As part of this recognition, we will receive two free sunscreen dispensers on campus. Our group will ensure the upkeep of these dispensers, providing an opportunity for members to earn service hours twice a week by wiping down the dispensers and checking their refill status. We look forward to promoting sun safety through this initiative and other projects.
Greenville Drive Tabling - Join us at our active table on Saturdays at the Greenville Drive games, where we distribute patient education materials, sunscreen, and skincare samples to the community.
Root Cause Tabling - We participate in tabling at Root Cause, offering patient education materials and skincare samples to the public.
Lunch and Learns - Throughout the year, we will host various educational events. Upcoming sessions include a Lunch-and-Learn with Dr. Darragh, a Mohs Surgeon, and a panel discussion with newly matched applicants and current residents from our school.
Conference Attendance - We plan to attend various dermatology conferences throughout the year, providing additional learning and networking opportunities.
More Events - Stay tuned for more events and opportunities as the year progresses. Feel free to reach out to either of the Co-Presidents for more information about our activities.
